Traditional medicinal uses
Tulsi & stress-care traditions
Tulsi, or holy basil, has a place in Ayurvedic herbal traditions. It is often discussed as an adaptogen, a term associated with responses to stress.
Evidence and cautions
A randomized trial investigated a standardized holy-basil extract for stress and sleep. An extract is different from brewed leaves, and the trial does not establish a benefit for this blend.
